Summary
It is a well known fact that tourism is one of the most
promising sectors of economy in Bulgaria. But its development
predominantly on the seashore of the Black Sea
and in limited inland locations has proven its irrational
nature: great areas of the country appear unable to realize
their potential. Due to this reason we often discuss
alternative tourism nowadays, which offers some opportunity
for development of territories lagging behind tourist
destinations. One such territory is the municipality of
Dalgopol. This report reviews its specific features from
geographic point of view. It also outlines the region’s main
advantages and potential for alternative tourism.
